650,000 ft2

The 650,000 sq.ft. project, equivalent to 10 football fields, encompasses the construction of an automated distribution center and regional offices.

The 550,000 sq.ft. warehouse incorporates refrigerated and frozen spaces with temperatures ranging from 5°C to -25°C. It boasts an impressive height of 112 feet at certain points, allowing for the integration of storage mezzanines and a very narrow aisle racking arrangement with wire-guided lift trucks.

Divco closely collaborated with Witron, renowned for excellence in automation in food distribution. The automated center features robots preparing up to 500 cases per hour, optimized by a grouping algorithm. Consequently, it supplies over 700 group stores throughout Quebec, accommodating a capacity of 7,000 fresh and frozen items.

The complex also houses administrative offices adjacent to the warehouse, totaling 105,000 sq.ft. across three floors. These modern, functional spaces include a spacious entrance hall, open offices, meeting rooms, a cafeteria, all bathed in natural light through ample fenestration. They now host over 300 employees.

The project received the ACI - Concrete Construction award in the Floors and Slabs category.

10,200 m3 of concrete were needed to pour floor slabs, some as thick as 430mm (~17 inches), with extremely strict flatness tolerances to accommodate automated robotics and conveyor systems.

This award highlights the dedication, expertise, and collaboration of our teams and stakeholders who successfully completed this project.
